During World Immunisation Week in Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh Chief Medical Officer of the district said that in the past 10 years, 54% children in urban areas an 52% in rural areas have been fully immunised. Under Mission Indradhanush, free vaccinations are being given in Hardoi district to fight against diptheria, whooping cough, tetanus, polio, TB, measles and hepatitis.
Mission Indradhanush, a joint programme of UNICEF and Government of India aims to reduce child mortality and disability. These vaccines are available in 426 primary and community health centres in Hardoi where people from both rural and urban areascan come and get their children immunised.
